It’s no surprise that when it comes to downtime, students know how to have fun. Especially when it comes to stress-busting, orgasmic-fulled R&R.

Between all the studying, revision, seminars, assignments and exams, it looks like students are turning up the heat in the bedroom to ease pressure and tension. And we fully support this wonderful behaviour!

Our Ann Summers Sexperts have known for many years that great sex and mind-blowing orgasms help us sleep better, look younger and keep fit. But did you know that it’s also a natural antidepressant and is one of the most effective ways to ease anxiety, relieve stress and boost brain power?

Yep, that’s right – sex can make you smarter – and we’ve discovered that the UK’s students are taking full advantage.

Growing evidence shows that sex can actually help you develop stronger cognitive skills, including verbal fluency, number sequencing and recall – perfect for when you’re busy trying to remember every important detail for an upcoming exam or write a extensive dissertation.

Looking for sex-piration

For many students, going to university is the first time they’ve lived away from home – giving them the freedom and privacy to explore their sexuality. During this time of sexual discovery and liberation, it’s only natural that curiosity is piqued.

Whether students are exploring sex toys for the very first time or searching for ways to boost their sexual confidence, they’re certainly having a lot of fun looking!

Once again, students at Oxford University came top of the list for browsing online, followed by Cardiff University, who also came 6th in the spending list.

Interestingly, students at Manchester University were the 4th highest spenders and were ranked 18th when it came to browsing sessions – showing their determination to have a little less conversation and a little more action.
