Maia woke to sunlight and the faint smell of chocolate. For a moment, she stayed curled beneath the covers, warm and drowsy from last night’s fun, listening to the quiet hum of the house. Somewhere downstairs, a kettle clicked off. Music drifted faintly through the floorboards - April’s go-to Sunday playlist.
April was already up, which wasn’t unusual. What was unusual, though, was the yellow envelope that sat on top of Maia’s pillow. Her name was written across it in April’s looping handwriting.
Maia smiled before she’d even opened it. April had been acting mysterious all week with little grins and disappearing into rooms with her phone, refusing to answer questions with anything other than “you’ll see.”
Maia tore open the envelope. Inside was a card and a tiny foil-wrapped chocolate egg. The note inside read:
Good morning, sleepy bunny. Today, you get to explore and play x
Maia laughed softly. Beneath the message was a poem posed as a clue.
Where mornings start, and coffee pours,
Where sleepy kisses ask for more,
Hop along, don’t take too long,
Your first sweet treat won’t hide for long…
Maia swung her legs out of bed and headed to the kitchen. Her pulse had already started to quicken; she was having flashbacks to Maia’s Valentine’s Day bonanza of pleasure. April didn’t do simple surprises. She did next-level displays of devotion.
The kitchen looked almost normal at first. Then Maia noticed the little Easter basket in the centre of the island with a single egg and another note.
She reached into the basket, unwrapping the golden egg. Instead of chocolate, a small bottle rolled into her palm. Massage oil. Vanilla and sandalwood. “Okay…” she murmured, amused. “I see where this is going.”
A poem attached to the bottle read:
Where warmth and wandering fingers lie,
A little oil, a little tease…
This morning,
I’ll bring you to your knees.
Maia grinned as she pictured April hidden away in the house somewhere, absolutely enjoying the fruits of her labour. She flipped the card.
Where bubbles bloom and mirrors steam,
Our bathtimes are anything but clean,
Hop upstairs with your basket, don’t lose your nerve,
Your next surprise is well deserved.
As she pried open the bathroom door, Maia discovered the bath had been decorated like the Easter Bunny’s den with plastic eggs lining the edge of the bath. Maia cracked open the first one that had an exclamation point on it. Inside was another folded note.
Little secrets soft and small,
Where good vibrations come to call,
Slip them inside and have no fear,
Switch them on to feel me near.
When she opened the egg fully, she laughed. Love eggs - two sleek, blush-pink love eggs rested inside the plastic shell.
“Oh…my god.” Her cheeks warmed instantly. Maia knew exactly how April liked using them on her. The teasing around her opening, the slow build…it sent little electrical shudders between her legs. The next clue waited on the mirror:
Where silky lace and knickers stay,
and outfits wait for games to play,
Find the blue I picked just for you…
Slip it on before you hop to your next clue.
Maia was officially invested. How many gifts?! Along with her oil, she popped the love eggs into the basket and made her way to the spare bedroom/make-shift walk-in wardrobe to find her next surprise hanging from the wardrobe door: a gorgeous, pale blue babydoll.
Maia lifted it from the hanger, letting the soft fabric fall between her fingers. The smoothness made her think about April’s fingers running across her thighs the night before. Attached to the hanger was the next clue:
Sweet like sugar, dark like sin,
Something tasty waits within,
But chocolate’s better shared, you’ll see,
Especially when it’s spread on me.
Maia licked her lips at the thought of eating April and licking the remnants of Easter’s bounty off of her. The rest of the clue read:
Where comfy cushions tempt you to stay,
Hop downstairs and find your way.
Maia stepped into the babydoll and made her way downstairs, her basket full of goodies in tow. Fairy lights glowed along the bookshelf in the living room, April’s Sunday playlist still softly blaring through the speakers. On the coffee table sat a box of chocolate truffles.
Another note waited:
Chocolate melts when your lips draw near,
As a tasty treat, I volunteer,
Trace it slow, don’t rush the fun,
The sweetest hunt has just begun.
Maia popped a truffle into her mouth, the decadent dark chocolate melting into her mouth slowly but instantly. Underneath the note was one final egg. Inside was the last clue.
The final prize is dressed just right,
Soft black fur and ears upright,
Hop down the hall and don’t delay,
Your Easter Bunny’s ready to play.
Maia’s stomach flipped, and her eyes lit up. She knew she was about to walk into a show-stopping performance of euphoric pleasure. Eagerly tiptoeing down the hallway, she made her way to the bedroom. She slowly opened the bedroom door and immediately froze.
There was her prize. April stood in the centre of the room wearing a black bunny costume. She was mesmerising. Complete with velvet ears and a fluffy tail, April had a smile that could instantly make Maia weak in the knees.
“Well, well, well”, April said casually, leaning against the bedpost with a coy grin, “look who found all her eggs.”
Maia burst out laughing. “You’re unbelievable.”
“You love it.” April’s eyes drifted down to the babydoll framing Maia’s ethereal body. She went quiet, her gaze moving slowly over her girlfriend’s perfectly shaped figure.
“You’re so fucking hot”, April murmured. “So worth the plotting and scheming for weeks.”
Maia sat on the edge of the bed. “You gonna give me my prize then?”
April picked up the box of chocolates. “As you wish”, she quipped. She unwrapped a truffle and slowly stepped between Maia’s knees. The chocolate softened between her fingers before she traced it gently along Maia’s collarbone.
April leaned down and licked the chocolate away. Slowly and unhurried. The warmth of her mouth lingered just long enough to make Maia’s breath hitch. “Told you,” April whispered, brushing her lips against Maia’s skin, “Easter treats are better shared.”
April reached into the little basket for the oil. Warmed between her palms before she smoothed it slowly along Maia’s shoulders, April’s hands glided down her back in unhurried strokes. Maia melted into the mattress with a quiet sigh, the soft scent of vanilla drifting through the room as April’s touch wandered lower, tracing every curve.
She reached for the love eggs next, letting them rest in Maia’s palm for a moment before guiding her hand back. The playful smile on April’s face said she was enjoying every second of the anticipation she’d built all morning. Maia laughed softly, breath hitching as April leaned close again. This time, she tangled her fingers in April’s hair and pulled her into a kiss. It was sweet and chocolate-infused.
The kissing quickly turned into heavy petting, and April traced her tongue with growing confidence, mapping the curves of Maia’s body as if she’d been waiting all morning to do exactly this. She made her way down to Maia’s warmth growing rapidly between her thighs. Unable to handle any more wanting, April thrust her tongue into Maia’s wetness. Maia’s fingers tightened in April’s hair as pleasure built in soft waves, and a dazed thought floated through her mind: she was impossibly lucky to have a partner who adored her like this. What came next was wave after wave of pure, unadulterated euphoria. April slipped the love eggs inside of Maia, teasing her over the edge once more with the egg’s gentle vibrations whilst her tongue lapped over her relentlessly.
When they finally broke apart, April returned her mouth to Maia’s and laughed softly against her lips. “You taste incredible”, she panted. “One more prize to go”, she giggled. April reached behind her and lifted a box from the bedside table. Inside sat a brand new Rampant Rabbit.
Maia stared. “Jesus, April. You’ve spent a fortune!” “What?” April shrugged innocently. “It’s Easter. You deserved something egg-stra special.” Maia groaned but secretly loved April’s cringey puns.
April set the toy down beside them and leaned in again, brushing her nose against Maia’s. Maia’s voice dropped to a whisper. “You’ve been such a good bunny, my love, it’s your turn now”, she murmured, her fingers tracing slow circles along April’s waist. April raised an eyebrow, that familiar spark of mischief lighting up her eyes. “Oh yeah?”
Maia laughed under her breath and pulled her closer again, their foreheads almost touching. “Oh yeah,” she echoed with her warm but teasing tone. Her hand slid up to tuck a strand of hair behind April’s ear, lingering there for a moment before drifting lower along her neck.
April leaned into the touch instinctively, the earlier teasing suddenly shifting into something heavier and intense. The fairy lights around the room cast a warm glow over them both, catching the playful tilt of the bunny ears still perched on April’s head.
“You planned this whole hunt for me,” Maia said quietly, her thumb brushing along April’s jaw. “Only fair I return the favour.”
