Gift and Refund Card Terms

1. We, Ann Summers Limited, offer physical gift cards for sale in the UK and Republic of Ireland. Gift cards are available for purchase online and in store. We do not offer digital gift cards. We may also provide you with a refund card in respect of a refund, as set out in our Returns Policy. These terms apply when a gift card has been purchased or a refund card has been issued.

2. Activation dates

  • a. If you buy a gift card (whether in store or online) it will be activated at the time of purchase.
  • b. If you receive a refund card in store it will be activated on receipt.
  • c. If you are issued with a refund card by a member of our customer service team, it will be activated on or shortly after the date on which we agree to provide it, and immediately before it is posted to you.

3. When gift cards are purchased in store, you can choose to add any balance to the card, from 1p - £500 (for cards purchased in the UK) and 1 cent – 500 Euro (for cards purchased in, or being shipped to, the ROI). When gift cards are purchased online, you can choose the amount to be added to the gift card from the pre-selected amounts on offer.

4. Validity Periods. When the validity period of the gift or refund card expires any remaining balance will be removed without notice While any balance remains on the gift card, the validity periods for our gift and refund cards are as follows:

  • a. Gift cards purchased in or shipped to the UK will be valid for 24 months from the activation date.
  • b. Gift cards purchased in or shipped to the Republic of Ireland will be valid for 5 years from the activation date.
  • c. Refund cards (whether given to customers in the UK or the Republic of Ireland) will be valid for 12 months from the activation date.
All gift and refund cards will automatically expire 30 days after the balance on the card is zero.

5. You can top-up your gift card in store, up to a maximum of £500 (in UK stores) or 500 Euro (in Irish stores). You can do this for as long as the gift card is valid or for up to 30 days after the balance on the gift card is zero. Topping up your gift card will not affect its validity period.

6. You are encouraged to register your gift and refund cards in store or online at www.annsummers.com/giftcard to help protect it against loss, theft or damage. To do this, uncover the gift card PIN by scratching off the panel on the reverse of the card.

7. Gift and refund cards purchased, shipped or issued within the UK can be redeemed online at annsummers.com and in UK stores. Gift and refund cards purchased or issued in, or shipped to, the Republic of Ireland can only be redeemed in Irish stores. Gift cards cannot be redeemed against items designated for international shipping (including to the Republic of Ireland).

8. Gift and refund cards are non-refundable and cannot be exchanged for cash. No change will be given when gift or refund cards are used. If you do not spend the entire balance of the gift or refund card, the remaining balance will be updated after the transaction. Gift and refund card balances can be checked in store and online, provided the card has been registered.

9. Gift and refund cards may be used to purchase goods of a higher price than the balance on the card and, in that case, you will be required to pay the difference.

10. If any product purchased entirely with a gift or refund card is returned for an exchange or refund, any money refunded will be credited back on to the gift or refund card or onto a replacement refund card if the original card is not available. If the gift card is used in store, the remaining balance will be printed on your till receipt.

11. If any product purchased partially using a gift or refund card and partially using a different payment method, any money refunded will be credited back onto the gift or refund card and using the original payment method, apportioned as per the original sale.

12. Gift cards are not cheque-guarantee, credit or store cards.

13. Although registering your gift card may afford you some protection, the card is your responsibility and we are not liable for lost, stolen cards or misused cards, or any credit amounts held on such cards. Damaged, altered, or cancelled gift cards will not be accepted.

14. Gift cards that you have purchased may be transferred but must not be resold. Gift cards that have been given to you in respect of a refund must not be transferred or resold.

15. We reserve the right to amend the terms and conditions of the gift card at any time and to take appropriate action, including cancellation of the card if, at our discretion, such action is deemed necessary. This does not affect your legal rights.
